for those of u who are wondering, tamarind is called (tsamiya ;))
YOU'LL NEED:
20 tamarind sticks(peeled,and washed)
3 cups of water
1 grated ginger root
1cup of sugar
1 stick of cinnamon
1 lemon (finely sliced)
METHOD:
Boil the tamarind in the 3 cups of water till the colour of the water changes to brown,add the ginger root and cinnamon stick and sugar, all this while stirring gently,take it off the heat when the sugar has dissolved and allow it to cool,strain it and pour in to a jug, use the lemon as a garnish.
This will serve 3
